The Friday competition at Sizzling Showdown was literally so hot that Mother Nature had to intervene and keep temperatures cool enough to play. However, despite Saturday's rainout, Sunday was gorgeous and sunny...the kind of weather that makes everyone who's not playing baseball, wish that they were!
In the 9U division, the Delaware Diamonds rose through the ranks and closed out the weekend with a 14-2 round versus the BYS Boone Dogs. The 11U champions were the Sportika Titans, who prevailed 7-1 in Sunday's final game opposite the Delco Dragons. 12U's trophy went home with the Mid-Atlantic Shockers Kimmel, who brought the heat in a Sunday shutout with the Pittsburgh Stars. In the 13U division, the USA Mavericks of Portsmouth, New Hampshire went head-to-head with the Ozone Howard Wolfpack in a 10-8 game. 14U champions were the East Coast Royals, who faced ASBA Broomall Sox and came out on top 12-3. Team Mizuno USA finished first in the 15-16U division, leading the 9-1 game versus CT Mayhem Monty. Finally in the 17 and over division, the Diamond Studs Baseball 18U won by one in the 5-4 final round on Sunday opposite Line Drive Baseball.
