CLARA DEWEY NAMED NANTICOKE’S AUGUST EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Nanticoke Health Services is pleased to announce that Clara Dewey, PTA, has been named Employee of the Month for August 2017.

Clara started her career with Nanticoke Health Services in September 1996 as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) in the Physical Therapy department. During her 21 year career at Nanticoke, Clara has worked with both inpatients and outpatients in physical therapy; she also spent 2 years providing physical therapy through Nanticoke’s Home Health program.

In addition to her daily duties, Clara teaches a body mechanics and transfer techniques program for Nanticoke employees and nursing students, and helps with monthly new employee orientation. She helped develop and implement Nanticoke’s Employee Safety Committee, the Joint Camp program, and Nanticoke’s aquatic physical therapy program at the Western Sussex Boys and Girls Club. Clara also regularly volunteers at local community events to promote Nanticoke Rehabilitation Services and Joint Camp.

Clara lives in Bridgeville with her husband of 25 years, Willis, their 2 children, Remington and Kayla. Outside of work, Clara raises honey bees and educates the community on beekeeping. She is a is a fourth degree master and instructor in Tae Kwon Do and enjoys teaching and competing along with her children who are both second degree black belts and assistant instructors. She also teaches body mechanics at local colleges and volunteers at schools, with 4H and the Boy Scouts. In her spare time, she enjoys going to the beach with her family.
