DAWN POLLITT NAMED NANTICOKE’S MAY NURSE OF THE MONTH

May 23, 2018

Nanticoke Health Services is pleased to announce that Dawn Pollitt, RN, has been named Nurse of the Month for May 2018.

Dawn began her career at Nanticoke Health Services in June 1982 as a Float Nurse in the Mother & Baby Care Center (the OB Unit). As soon as her orientation ended, a full-time staff nurse position on OB became available. During her first year, Dawn worked in all areas of OB as well as relief charge nurse on the surgical floor. For over 35 years, Dawn has worked in the nursery, providing excellent care to all the babies as well as their mothers. In between her job duties, Dawn makes sure to take time to teach fellow staff members important nursing skills as well as compassion for all Nanticoke’s OB patients. She sets a prime standard for all of her fellow nurses to follow.

Dawn has a wealth of knowledge. She devotes time to her team in her coaching a range of nurses from novice to experts. Dawn is a member of OB's Quality Committee and enjoys their monthly meetings.

Dawn lives in Laurel with her husband, David. Their family, much like their hearts, is big and includes Dawn’s two sons and their wives, her husband’s daughter and son, and combined total of 9 grandchildren! In her spare time, Dawn enjoys reading and being with friends. She has two separate groups of friends that meet monthly for food and fellowship.

Nanticoke appreciates all of Dawn’s hard work and dedication. Please join us in congratulating her as Nurse of the Month for May 2018!
