East End Lighthouse Tour Today at 4 pm
Due to the high winds we have rescheduled this morning's East End Lighthouse trip to this afternoon at 4 pm.
This trip will depart from our dock at Fisherman's Wharf instead of the Lewes Ferry terminal.
New for the summer of 2017, Cape Water Tours and Taxi introduces the East End Lighthouse Tour. During this NARRATED tour, passengers will learn about the rich maritime history of this impressive structure AND will be able to walk around and through it to explore and photograph it up close.
This infamous beacon was placed permanently on the east end of the breakwater at Cape Henlopen in April, 1885. Since that time, the East End Lighthouse has stood firmly through everything the Atlantic Coast could throw at it. Today, it and the Harbor of Refuge Lighthouse are the treasures seen by visitors to Delaware when exploring the Southern Delaware coastal region. The East End Lighthouse Tour will provide visitors and residents with the historical perspective of the Lighthouse and the surrounding area. Simultaneously, they will experience the pleasure of a vacation activity exposing them to the panoramic views of the Lewes shoreline while enjoying a comfortable, safe cruise on the calm and beautiful waters of our Delaware Bay. The picture on the left is the lighthouse at sunset, provided through the courtesy of photographer Kevin Bristowe.
If you live in or visit the lower Delaware resort areas, you will be thoroughly delighted with any experience aboard the vessels of Cape Water Tours and Taxi.
