December 7, 2017

What's the latest on Art In Bloom's campaign to permanently install three, thirteen to eighteen feet tall, metal, kinetic wind sculptures near the Lewes Pubic Library? Are you looking for the perfect Rehoboth Beach themed stocking stuffer for the beach reader on your list? Then listen to the Podcast of Coastal Arts & Entertainment with host Michael Sprouse from his December 2nd broadcast from the studios of Delaware 105.9 FM on his new weekly, hour-long radio show here: http://wxde.streamon.fm/listen-pl-730?smc=39

The Podcast features an interview with Ed Zygmonski of “Art In Bloom”, a committee of “Lewes In Bloom” (an award-winning organization that has been beautifying Lewes for 16 years). Art In Bloom’s goal is to place public art in parks in the City of Lewes.

Committee member Ed explains during the first hour, the fundraising campaign to permanently install three kinetic wind sculptures by internationally known sculptor Lyman Whitaker around the new Lewes Public Library. The trio of works will be called “Silent Sentinels Of Lewes”. Each of these stunning and graceful sculptures are between 13 and 18 feet tall! Known for their beauty and durability, the sculptures spin silently and responsively to even the slightest breeze but are also capable of enduring heavy storms and gale force winds. It’s your chance to weigh in on the project and to learn more about how you can help with your donations.

Each year, the annual contest draws cores of entrees from a wide mix of applicants ranging from successful punished professional writers to first time, fledgling authors looking for inclusion in the covetable publication. She’ll explain the process of entering the contest, what makes a great entry and give insight into next year’s event.
