Here’s What’s Happening the Weekend of October 28-30 in Coastal Delaware

October 27, 2016

It’s now the final weekend of October, also known as the most enjoyable weekend of the year for many in coastal Delaware, particularly if you have young ones in the house.

It’s officially Sea Witch Weekend in Rehoboth Beach!

While there are other events and happenings this weekend, and we’ll highlight as many of them as we can here in our “Weekender Blog,” the next few days will be dominated by this enormously popular annual festival in the “Nation’s Summer Capital.”

This is the 27th year for Sea Witch, which in formal terms is known as the Sea Witch Halloween and Fiddler’s Festival. As always, this event is organized and coordinated by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, and boy do they put on a good show!

We’ll highlight the biggest events of this festival below so you and your family can maximize your enjoyment over these absolutely fabulous few days of coastal Delaware fun.

And that includes the four-legged members of the family as well – read more about that below.

And keeping with the Halloween theme, also keep in mind that this is the final weekend for most of the area’s spooky attractions. We’ve compiled that information for you below, as well as trick-or-treat times for most of our area communities.

And a quick heads up before we delve into this weekend’s activities. Be sure to check back again this time next week as we preview and highlight the return of Delmarva’s nationally acclaimed Punkin Chunkin festival, which comes back to southern Delaware next weekend after a two-year hiatus.

But that’s next week. This week, it’s all about ghosts and goblins and, of course, sea witches!

Here are our choices for southern Delaware events and happenings for the weekend of Oct. 28-30:

Sea Witch Halloween & Fiddler’s Festival (Oct. 28-30). When thinking of this annual festival, most people think of the costume parade up and down Rehoboth Avenue on Saturday morning. And while that is certainly the highlight of this three-day gathering, there is much, much more to see and witness at Rehoboth Beach’s most well known annual event.

Once again, thousands of visitors are expected in the resort this weekend for three days of fun in 2016’s extended season. Listed below are a few of the highlights of this year’s Sea Witch Festival, including the always popular pet parade on Sunday.

Visit www.beach-fun.com for a full schedule and/or to download and print out the complete brochure for all three days of activities. We hope to see you there, and be sure to have a great time!
