To the Lewes Community & Beyond: Grace and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord. When I arrived in Lewes in 2013 I inherited from my predecessors planning responsibilities for two worthy Lewes traditions—the Good Friday Cross Walk, and the Easter Sunrise Service at Lewes Beach.  I have come to value both as wonderful opportunities for the Christian community in Lewes, to come together, outside our walls, and witness that we are all disciples of Jesus Christ. While I’m sure congregations have their own Good Friday and Easter celebrations, it is my sincere hope that as many people as possible will participate with one another in one or both of these services. Pastors call on Jesus daily to answer our prayers.  But when we come together and witness to our shared faith as the body of Christ we are answering His prayer in John 17:20-21 “My prayer is…that all of them may be one, Father, just as You are in Me and I am in You.  May they also be in us so that the world may believe...” (NIV) We want to invite all  to know about the opportunities for witness and worship.  The speaker for the Easter Sunrise Service is Dr. Deborah McCaffity, Pastor of St. Georges’s AME Church in Lewes.  This is the Bicentennial year for both the African Methodist Episcopal denomination and for St. Georges Church.  If you are a pastor and are interested in helping/participating in the Sunrise Service, or the Cross Walk, please email me or call at 302-645-9426. May God bless you. Wishing you Heaven’s best. Yours in Christ, Earle N. Baker, Pastor
