Nerfpocalypse: The Hunt for the Cure descends on Sports at the Beach

(Georgetown) From apocalyptic adventures to zombie zones, Nerfpocalypse: The Hunt for the Cure is the latest event offered by The Indoor at Sports at the Beach...and it is truly one-of-a-kind.
WHEN: Sunday, April 2 from 2-5pm
“The Nerfpocalypse Hunt for the Cure is basically an epic 3-hour Nerf gun battle...with the added twist of a clue-solving hunt to save humanity,” explains Brian Turner, director of activities at The Indoor Academy in Georgetown. In recent months, the 8,400-square-foot athletic training facility has expanded its schedule to include nearly 20 sports and fitness programs for individuals, teams, and families in the community. Turner says that new Nerf War sessions for ages 8-15 are among the most popular of these, and the basis for Nerfpocalypse event on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017. But, he adds, the Hunt for the Cure is much more than simply a Nerf Toy fight.
“Participants will have the opportunity to experience Hunt for the Cure on 3 different teams: Survivors, Zombies, and SWAT Doctors.” Survivors will race to discover the cure for the zombie virus, zombies will seek to eliminate the humans before the cure is found, and SWAT doctors will aim to keep the survivors healthy.
The event begins at 2:00pm and the teams will rotate every hour until 5:00pm, so everyone gets to join in on the fun. Other unique features of Nerfpocalypse: all ages are welcome, there’s the added challenge of strategic objectives for each team, and it is one of the very first outdoor programs offered (just in time for spring). In fact, The Hunt for the Cure will be held on the grounds of seasonal haunted attraction Screams at the Beach, which Turner also co-produces every October. His top advice for potential participants?

Nerfpocalypse: The Hunt for the Cure will be held at 22518 Lewes-Georgetown Highway (Route 9) in Georgetown, and costs $15 per player.
