Quieting the mind

All the practices of yoga are to quiet your mind. Frankly, it needs the help. There are two problems with your busy mind – quantity and quality.

Let’s talk about quantity first. The quote above by Deepak Chopra indicates that a quiet mind is buried under the 50,000 thoughts you think in a day. Believe that number has been updated to over 65,000 thoughts a day. That is a lot of busy thoughts – no wonder we are exhausted!

As far as quality – isn’t it true that most of our thoughts are not new or inspiring?  Don’t we replay the same thoughts over and over again – mostly reviewing old pains or even thinking of future pains that may never happen?

Meditation – especially Svaroopa® Vidya Meditation – is the path to quiet the mind – make it still – and find your inner peace, your inner Self.
