Seventh Annual Runway of Hope Raises more than $86,000 for Cancer Survivors

September 22, 2017

Bayhealth Cancer Institute recently held its seventh annual Runway of Hope fundraiser at Baywood Greens in Long Neck, Delaware. The event, which benefits the Institute’s Survivorship Program and features a runway fashion show, silent auction, plated luncheon, and raffles, raised more than $86,000.

The Survivorship Program supports a cancer patient as they transition from cancer treatment to cancer survivorship. A nurse navigator, in collaboration with the patient’s oncologist, reviews a custom plan for the patient to address follow-up care and help reduce anxiety and specific patient concerns following their treatment.

“We were overwhelmed by the community support for this year’s event,” said John Shevock, FACHE, FACMPE, senior director of operations, oncology service line and executive director of the Bayhealth Cancer Institute. “The Runway of Hope Committee did a fantastic job, and we are thankful for their support.”
