Nicky’s Review: Amazing, I must be missing something...Even though This Movie received 13 nominations and won the Oscar for Best Picture...I have to be true to my feelings, this film did not work for me. I sat there shaking my head, it was occasionally grotesque and somewhat weird, although there were a few laughs...However to be fair, I’m generally not a fan of this Genre, so my opinion is somewhat biased... That being said If you were a Fantasy Horror Fan of the old time Si-Fi Monster Movies of the 1960’s, then you will probably enjoy the look and feel of this Modern Version...If your not a fan of this Genre, you will probably do as I did, sit there and shake your head.., See Below, Get more of a feel for this Movie 5:41 min Close/Up Interview with Director: Guillermo del Toro ...Get his point of view...Nicky’s Movie Corner, (65% Score for all Non Fantasy Monster Movie fans.) email me, let me know your opinion. do you agree or disagree...nicky@rentamobilemovietheater.com
The Shape of Water, Film / Synopsis:
Elisa is a mute, isolated woman who works as a cleaning lady in a hidden, high-security government laboratory in 1962 Baltimore. Her life changes forever when she discovers the lab's classified secret -- a mysterious, scaled creature from South America that lives in a water tank. As Elisa develops a unique bond with her new friend, she soon learns that its fate and very survival lies in the hands of a hostile government agent and a marine biologist.
