Shop Small Saturday is a day dedicated to patronizing community-based businesses that have a positive impact right where you live.

In 2010 American Express founded Shop Small: Small Business Saturday. This cause helps support local economies and promotes vibrant, diverse communities. It happens each year on the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it’s dedicated to getting people out to support their local businesses. Join community movements across the nation who are recognizing the importance of shoppers, business owners, and organizers who promote community togetherness. These are the brick and mortar shops and small businesses with community roots. It’s a way to rally around those same businesses that support and give to our schools, our organizations, and our causes when we fundraise and ask for their sponsorship.
