‘50s Boardwalk Bash set in Ocean View Sept. 17

The public is invited to join members of the Ocean View Historical Society in a '50s Boardwalk Bash Saturday, Sept. 17. At 4:30 p.m., there will be social hour with tours of the historic buildings at 39 Central Ave. Then at 6 p.m., festivities will begin at the Ocean View Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall.

There will be boardwalk games, a photo booth, '50s music, boardwalk fare of hot dogs and hamburgers with fixings, coleslaw, popcorn machine, potato chips, sodas, water and a make-your-own-ice-cream-sundae bar, with ice cream donated by Hocker's Food Markets which will prepare the boardwalk fare.

Attendees are encouraged to dig out their '50s duds for the best-dressed competition and wear boardwalk attire for a photo op with friends. Auction items include weekend getaways to the new Marriott Boardwalk Hotel or Addy-by-the Sea in Bethany, or to a cabin in the Shenandoah Mountains of Virginia, gourmet dinner for eight and more.
