‘Cancer, Seriously?’ set at Cinema Art Theatre Oct. 25

October 20, 2016

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society with the American Association of University Women Coastal Georgetown Branch and the League Of Women Voters Of Sussex County present the second annual Women’s Film Series. The focus of this monthly series is to inform, inspire and empower audiences by exploring a range of women’s issues through the art of film.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the series continues with the uplifting and emotive documentary “Cancer, Seriously?” set at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 25 at the Cinema Art Theatre in Lewes. For many, the aftermath of breast cancer is the most difficult part of the journey. It was in this crucible of struggle that six sisters in survivorship set out on a journey to document their lives after the storm. Executive Producer Melissa Burns chronicles her own personal experiences as well as those of other young mothers and wives, as they attempt to move on after treatment, when life supposedly returns to “normal.”

The Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition is also collaborating to offer this screening. A post film discussion will be led by Connie Holdridge, program manager in education and survivorship at the Sussex County Office. Several breast cancer warriors will be in attendance to share their stores.

Admission is $9. To purchase tickets, go to www.rehobothfilm.com or by call 302-645-9095.
