9:15 p.m. - 32 degrees - snow starting in downtown Lewes

January 3, 2018

As if on cue from National Weather Service predictions, snow from the storm coming up the coast from the south started falling in downtown Lewes at 9:15 p.m. Wednesday night.  The temperature was 32 degrees when the snow started.  By 10 p.m. it had dropped to 28 degrees. Several more inches are expected overnight along with heavy winds that prompted a blizzard warning for the Delaware coast through 7 p.m. Thursday.  Cape Henlopen School District, earlier this evening, called off school for Thursday.
