AARP hears from Red Cross rep, sets meeting Feb. 22, make reservations by Feb. 14

At the Nov. 15 meeting, AARP Chapter 4903 members heard from Sharon Jefferson, American Red Cross Disaster Program manager for Delmarva. She spoke of how to be prepared for disasters and other emergencies.

She covered a broad range of topics including creating a survival kit, making an escape plan which includes the entire family, and learning where disaster information could be available such as local radio, TV and NOAA weather radio stations.

The next chapter luncheon is set for noon, Wednesday, Feb. 22, at American Legion Post 28 in Long Neck. Lori Stevens will provide insight into Person For You, an organization which offers seniors concierge services including grocery shopping, rides to appointments and more. The meeting address is 31768 Legion Drive, Millsboro.
