Ag scholarship applications due April 15 to First State Antique Tractor Club

March 10, 2018

The First State Antique Tractor Club will hold its 18th annual antique tractor, truck and car show from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 15, and and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 16, at the Ross Mansion/Plantation, 23669 Ross Station Road, Seaford. The show will feature many events for young and old, but the highlight will be the presentation of four $1,000 scholarships.

Scholarships will be presented to four graduating high school students who will be studying agriculture at a two- or four-year college. To qualify for a scholarship, the student must obtain a scholarship form from their agriculture teacher, complete the application and submit to the First State Antique Tractor Club scholarship committee before the deadline of Sunday, April 15.

To ensure fairness, the scholarship committee gives all the information to an independent panel for selection. The panel takes into consideration financial need, scholastic accomplishments and outside activities. This year, Bill Argo, club scholarship chair, will present the scholarships at noon, Saturday, June 16.
