The Bethany Area Repertory Theater announced its production of “The Mousetrap,” a murder mystery by Agatha Christie. The show will be performed on BART's new stage at the Woodsong Country Inn in Frankford at 7:30 p.m., Friday-Saturday, Sept. 22-23 and 29-30, with a special matinee at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 24. Doors open 45 minutes prior to show.

In "The Mousetrap," a group of people gathered in a country house, cut off by a snowstorm, discover to their horror that there is a murderer in their midst. Who can it be? One by one the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts until at the last, nerve-shredding moment the identity and the motive are finally revealed.

"The Mousetrap" is the longest-running play in the history of London's West End. Running continuously for over 60 years, it has established Agatha Christie as a playwright in the public eye. The play is known for its twist ending, which the audience is traditionally asked not to reveal after leaving the theater.

BART's new space for its first season at the Woodsong Country Inn will accommodate more patrons in a beautiful country setting and has a larger stage. "A cash bar will be available pre-show and at intermission to provide patrons with wine, beer and nonalcoholic beverages, as well as snacks on the tables in cabaret-style seating," said Rusty Hesse, BART treasurer.

BART organizers thank the Woodsong, and all of their member volunteers who have worked tirelessly in getting the venue ready for its first production, including building the stage, creating and painting the set, installing lighting and sound, cleaning, and adding the final touches through donations of lights, computers and linens.

BART at the Woodsong Country Inn is at 37269 Dirickson Creek Road, Frankford. For more information, go to www.BARTinBethany.com.
