All Rehoboth candidates deserve appreciation

August 17, 2017

I write to give thanks to the five individuals who just ran for public office in Rehoboth Beach. How fortunate we are as a small community to have had five high-quality individuals put themselves out there and seek office. It's no easy task, physically, mentally and financially. Five individuals - Sam, Paul, Kathy, Lisa and Susan - each impressed me with their competence, professionalism, concern about our city, willingness and ability to listen to constituents, and the level of service they promised to provide if elected.

A big congratulations to our new mayor and the two winning commissioners! Paul, Kathy and Lisa - I wish you well as you take office and take on the serious responsibility of leadership and governance. Susan - I hope you will continue your tremendous service to our community in the numerous ways you have been serving. And Sam - my sense is that your understanding of the nuances of our city is priceless and I'm hopeful you will be viewed and utilized as a valued resource to the commissioners and to our new mayor. Thank you Sam, for your many years of dedicated and valuable service!

Thanks to each of the candidates for seeing the positive potential for the future of the City of Rehoboth Beach. We need more individuals like the five of you to step up and offer their many talents and experiences to ensuring a hopeful future for our beautiful community!

The entire election process we have just completed makes me proud to be a resident of the City of Rehoboth Beach.
