Alton M. ‘Bim’ Slade, took culinary program

Alton M. Slade, 45, of Georgetown, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, Oct. 26, 2017, at the Vital Healthcare Hospice Center, Duluth, Ga., due to congestive heart failure.

"Bim," as he was known to his family and friends, was born May 14, 1972, to Wynita Elaine Slade, Georgetown, and Elton M. Brinkley, Millsboro.

He was educated in the public schools of Sussex County. Bim, graduated from Sussex Central High School in 1990 and completed a two-year culinary program at Sussex Tech, graduating in 1992.

Bim made his home in Forrest Park, Ga.., moving there in 1997.

Beside his parents, Bim leaves to cherish his memories: his son Tobias M. Parker of Conley, Ga.; his brother Linnard L. Slade of Millsboro; aunts, Edith Wescott of Seaford, Phillis Thomas of Dover, Sheila Slade of Georgetown, Loveie Godwin of Frankford, and Sabara Brady of Frederica; one uncle, Fred Slade of Felton; paternal grandmother Hilda Mae Brinkley of Selbyville; sisters Altoya Brinkley of Portsmouth, Va., Amy Brinkley of Greenwood; brother Altonio Brinkley of Norfolk, Va.; uncle Anthony Brinkley Sr. of Laurel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

There are many things in life that we cannot understand, but we must trust God's judgement and be guided by his hand.
