Alzheimer’s caregiver group at Brandywine Fenwick Island starts April 18

The Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter announced that Brandywine Senior Living at Fenwick Island will host a monthly caregiver support group that meets at 2 p.m., the third Wednesday of each month starting April 18.

Jamie Magee, program coordinator for the association, will be the speaker and will give the latest facts and figures on dementia, as well as answering any questions attendees may have. The group will offer support to anyone caring for a person with Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. All meetings are open to the public and interested parties are invited to attend.

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. One person out of 10 who reaches the age of 65 will develop Alzheimer’s, as will one person out of every three who reaches the age of 85. Every 65 seconds someone in America develops Alzheimer’s disease.
