Alzheimer's Association recognizes supporters

April 13, 2017

The Alzheimer's Association Delaware Valley Chapter recently recognized Hocker's Stores in Millville and Ocean View for their continued support. Since 2007, they have raised more than $58,000 to support local programs, services and research. The stores run a campaign the month of July in which they offer customers the opportunity to purchase a paper forget-me-not for $1 in honor of or memory of someone with Alzheimer's or other dementia.

The association also presented a trophy of recognition for over 20 years of volunteerism to Lou Betton of Millsboro. She was also honored for her support of the Rehoboth Walk to End Alzheimer's 2016, placing fourth in Top Individual Walkers and raising $2,730.

The Rehoboth Walk to End Alzheimer's is held annually at Grove Park in Rehoboth Beach, and is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30, this year. For more information or to register, go to www.alz.org/delval or call 800-272-3900.
