American Legion Auxiliary National President visits Post 28

American Legion Auxiliary National President Diane Duscheck visited American Legion Post 28 March 2 for a luncheon. Duscheck, of Markesan, Wisc., was elected national president of the American Legion Auxiliary during the organization’s 97th National Convention held Aug. 18-24 in Reno, Nev. Duscheck serves the world’s largest women’s patriotic service organization as national president for a one-year term. 

Duscheck has been actively involved in nonprofit work for most of her life. She worked at Easter Seals Society of Wisconsin for more than 10 years, where she was responsible for the personal care of physically handicapped campers and was also a cook, and still volunteers for fundraisers and special events. As part of her professional career, Duscheck taught seventh- and eighth-grade science for 34 years at St. Eugene Catholic School and Maple Dale Grade School, respectively, retiring from the latter in June 2014.

Duscheck earned both her bachelor of science in physical education, with Pre-Physical Therapy Option and a Secondary Teaching Certification in Science from Montana State University, and earned her master of science in education from Viterbo University. She holds a Department of Public Instruction Licensure in computer science, science, and health. In addition to the American Legion Auxiliary, Duscheck is a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, Montana State University Alumni Association, and Friends of the Domes.

While in Delaware Duscheck toured the Air Mobility Museum in Dover, visited the Community Based Outpatient Clinic and Veterans Center in Georgetown. Prior to the luncheon Duscheck also visited the Home of the Brave.
