Andrew L. Ruffatt, former DRBA employee

Andrew L. Ruffatt, 76, of Lincoln, formerly of West Grove, Pa., died after a long illness Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford.

He was born in Indianola, Okla. Andrew retired from the military, Penn DOT and Chester County. He also worked for the Delaware River and Bay Authority. He was a life member of the American Legion and VFW.

He was preceded in death by his father, Doane Ruffatt; mother Velma Hall; brothers Doane and Donnie; and sisters Maggie Coleman, Mary Rowell and Melba Perry.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gregg Ruffatt; daughter Carolyn DeShong (Tim); son Andrew Ruffatt (Danielle); grandchildren, Gregory DeShong, Daniel DeShong, Nick Ruffatt and Leah Ruffatt; sister, Sybil Shrock; and half-brother, Gerald Tripp.

Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5, at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. Following the burial a memorial service will be held at Long Neck U.M. Church, 32051 Long Neck Road, Millsboro.
