December 11, 2017

Rehoboth Beach city secretary Ann Womack has been designated a master municipal clerk by the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.

“It feels like such a great accomplishment receiving this certification,” she said. “The training I have received enables me to stay updated on laws and duties as a clerk, and it helps me to perform my job serving the city as best I can. I am very thankful to the city for this opportunity, and I look forward to continuing my IIMC education.”

The IIMC is an international nonprofit organization dedicated to the continuing education and development of municipal clerks through certified training programs, conferences and research.

Rehoboth spokeswoman Krys Johnson said Womack’s designation is granted only to those municipal clerks who complete demanding educational requirements and have pertinent experience.

Womack has served as the city secretary since 2005 and is a member of the Delaware Municipal Clerks Association and the Delaware Chapter of Women Leading Government.

City Manager Sharon Lynn said, “The city of Rehoboth Beach and I are very pleased that she has received this award. It consisted of a lot of demanding work, studying and hours. We are all very proud of her.”
