Anna Ritthaler celebrates 100th birthday

The Norman Rockwell Escapade Room was filled at the birthday celebration. Entertainment was provided by The Problematics from Lewes.
Brandywine presented Anna Ritthaler with a gift at the celebration. The poem on the plaque starts off, “Instead of counting candles, or tallying the years, contemplate your blessings, as your 100th birthday nears.”
Anna Ritthaler, a resident at Brandywine Assisted Living at Seaside Pointe, celebrated her 100th birthday March 13. Originally from Perth Amboy, N.J., Ritthaler has been a resident at Brandywine for six years. Several members of her family were able to attend the celebration.
Ritthaler has four children, eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Ritthaler’s secret to long living is “Keep on moving.” She enjoys puzzles, drawing, bingo and gardening. She still does all of her own housework even though the service is provided at Brandywine.
