Anna Ruth (Long) Hickman, loved farm life

Anna Ruth (Long) Hickman, 92, of Selbyville, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at home surrounded by family. Anna was born in Bishopville, Md., April 23, 1925, to Elisha D. Long and Edna (Hudson) Long.

She enjoyed taking care of her chickens and raised them for Perdue. Anna loved the farm life, taking care of her family, going to the beach cottage, cooking, fishing, boating, crabbing and she loved the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn Lutz and Joshua Long; and her loving husband Frank E. Hickman. Anna is survived by her son, Bradford E. Hickman, as well as several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Thursday, May 18, at the Frankford Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 43 Thatcher St., Frankford, where friends may visit with the family after 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Bishopville Cemetery in Bishopville.
