Anne d'Auray Rooney Tracy, avid painter

Anne d'Auray Rooney Tracy, 79, of Warminster, Pa., formerly of Ocean View, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016.

She was born in Jersey City, N.J., June 24, 1937, and was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Robert Tracy. Andy is survived by daughters Jackie Dougherty and Betsy Keller; sons Bob, Brian and Matt; and 17 grandchildren. She and Bob raised their kids in Bowie, Md., before retiring to South Bethany, where they were very active in the church and community.

Andy graduated from Catholic University of America with a degree in fine arts, and was an avid painter, focusing mainly on the beach that she grew up loving so much. In her later years, she became a published author with the release of her second book coming in October.

A viewing will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30, at the Ocean View Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, 38040 Muddy Neck Road, Ocean View. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 1, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Pkwy., Bethany Beach. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Dagsboro.
