Appraisal fair to benefit GFWC Zwaanendael Women’s Club of Lewes Jan. 21

January 18, 2017

Now is the time to find out what those old items in the garage or attic are worth. The GFWC Delaware State Federation of Women's Clubs Zwaanendael Women's Club of Lewes is sponsoring an antique and jewelry appraisal fair from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Lewes library. A flat fee of $10 per item will get a professional appraisal from one of the top antiques and collectibles dealers in the area and support this local philanthropic organization.

Appraisers donating their time to support this worthy cause include Pete Beaman of Beaman's Old and Gnu Antiques in Milton, Shirley and Louis O'Neal Antiques in Laurel and Evard Hall of Greenwood. Evaluations are limited to three per person and firearms are not permitted. Jewelry can be old or new.

The club's mission has always been to support Lewes community and its surrounding areas through volunteering time and resources to community members in need. The thousands of volunteer hours provided by the women of Zwaanendael each year have supported homeless shelters, food banks, abused women and children, displaced veterans and local food pantries. Members further education through the adoption of a local elementary school classroom, and giving annual scholarships to Beebe Nursing School students and Cape Henlopen High School sophomores who participate in the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminars each year.
