Art show reception set at Nassau Valley Vineyards Aug. 4

Donald Blow and Anne Crown-Cyr to offer paintings and prints
July 27, 2016

Works by artists Donald Blow and Anne Crown-Cyr will be in the gallery at Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery during August. This is the third joint show for the award-winning artists who are signature-level members of the Delaware Watercolor Society. They will have original paintings and prints on display. New and retired paintings in watercolor and oil will be available for purchase.

Blow, a native Delawarean, is well known for his dry-brush, Wyeth-like watercolors of farms and landscapes of Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maine. He studied at the Hussian School of Art in Philadelphia and is a member of the Philadelphia Sketch Club. He currently resides in Smyrna. To see more of his work, go to www.donaldblow.com.

Crown-Cyr, originally from Arlington, Va,. likes to travel and paint plein air. Although one of her favorite places is Provence, France, she finds Delaware has some great landscapes. “I’m drawn to the many beautiful vistas the land and sea offer,” she says. Her watercolors are often high-key impressions of a place, and her oils rely on spontaneous brush work and the use of a palette knife. She has a degree in painting from the University of Delaware and lives in Rehoboth Beach. For more information, go to www.annecrownstudio.com.

An opening reception is set for 5 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 4, at Nassau Valley Vineyards and Winery, 32165 Winery Way, Lewes. Winery and gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m. For more information, call 302-645-9463.
