Arts wellness program set March 9 in Lewes

March 7, 2017

A mixed-medium expressive arts playshop for adults is set from 10 to 11:15 a.m., Thursday, March 9, at the Lewes Wellness Center. No previous art experience is necessary. Facilitator Eileen Wilkinson has found expressive arts can lift a person's emotional, spiritual, cognitive and physical well-being. No special talent is required, and several easy options are available such as collage, journaling, drumming and mandala making.

“The most obvious benefit of expressive arts is the spark created in the imagination. It's like an aha moment, a new discovery. It can lead to new things, bring light to something stuck, open a new doorway to unarticulated feelings, and shed light on the past. It can bring clarity when words cannot describe what is unfolding. Expressive arts are a fun way to explore and help distract the brain by releasing feel-good endorphins similar to exercise - we are all creative beings; we just need a forum to help exercise it," said Wilkinson.

Cost is $10. The address is 20268 Plantation Road, Lewes. To RSVP, call 302-313-9990 or go to www.lewes-wellness-center.com.
