Atlantic Sands Hotel announces Brian Goldfarb as executive chef

Rehoboth Jazz Fest may enjoy Goldfarb’s talents Oct. 13, 14
October 7, 2017

The Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center announced Chef Brian Goldfarb as executive chef for its kitchens, including banquets, the hotel's Sandcrab beach bar, and the Atlantic Boardwalk Grille restaurant. Locals in Sussex County may have experienced Goldfarb's skill in the kitchens of Kupchick's Restaurant and La La Land in the past. More recently, he spent several years as a partner and catering chef at Touch of Italy in Rehoboth.

Goldfarb attended the New England Culinary Institute and then honed his classic French cooking skills while at The Accomac Inn in Wrightsville, Pa., where he was involved in large-scale catering operations. Later he took a position with Jan Birnbaum at the recently opened Sazerac, a Cajun-influenced destination in Seattle. It was there that Goldfarb worked side-by-side with and learned the art of gumbo from Chef Paul Prudhomme. While on the West Coast, Goldfarb also helped to build the Waterbar and Epic Roasthouse restaurants, the first waterfront restaurants to be built on the Embarcadero in 100 years. During his time at Epic, in particular, he worked closely with local farmers and ranchers to obtain and offer the best and freshest farm-to-table fare in the Bay Area.

Goldfarb insists a highlight of his time on the West Coast was a dinner with Julia Child; however, he was also fortunate enough to work with Mario Batali, Tyler Florence and Jacque Pepin, as well as many other talented and gifted chefs. Over the years, he has also supported many Meals on Wheels events, the Napa Valley Wine Auction, Charleston Food & Wine Week, Portland Oregon's Food Festival and a host of other charity events.

At the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center, Goldfarb's talents can be enjoyed during Rehoboth Beach Jazz Fest weekend at the Atlantic Boardwalk Grille on Friday evening, Oct. 13, and again from 5 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, during the live jazz performance by 5th Avenue in the restaurant, where reservations are encouraged but not required. Goldfarb is already receiving high marks from guests who have started to enjoy his culinary skills during banquets, weddings and parties, available year-round at the Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center. He is also creating new and exciting menus for the hotel's seasonally operated Sandcrab beach bar and Atlantic Boardwalk Grille.

The Atlantic Sands Hotel & Conference Center is at 1 Baltimore Ave., Rehoboth Beach. For more information or to reach Chef Brian Goldfarb and the catering sales team, call 302-227-2511.
