Auditions for young adults’ theater workshop set June 12-13 in Georgetown

Ages 16 to mid-20s eligible for pilot program
June 12, 2018

Auditions are scheduled at 6 p.m., Tuesday and Wednesday, June 12 and 13, for “Different Than Good,” a pilot summer workshop for young people. They will be held in the Green Room of Possum Hall under the auspices of Possum Point Players. This workshop is a training ground for musical theater and will conclude with public performances presented by a core ensemble Friday and Saturday, Aug. 3 and 4. Auditions are open to high school students 16 and up, and college students and other young adults up to mid-20s.

Those auditioning should pick up materials in the front office of the theater before auditions. Possum Hall is at 441 Old Laurel Highway, Georgetown. PDF copies of the materials can be requested by email to Logan Lynch, lynchlogan411@gmail.com. All audition applicants should review and be prepared to present all of the material. Those who cannot make either of the audition dates can contact Lynch for information about video auditions.

Workshop directors hope to attract those who pursue theater experience in school and their communities. They should be willing to be challenged by the requirements of different and sometimes difficult music and dance. Music selections for the workshop will include the works of Stephen Sondheim, John Kander and Fred Ebb, and Jonathan Larson. For more information, email Lynch.
