Autism Delaware direct support professional receives award for excellence

September 22, 2016

Delaware Attorney General Matt Denn joined Delaware Department of Health and Social Services Secretary Rita Landgraf in honoring Christine Miller, who was awarded the Ability Network of Delaware Community Excellence Award Sept. 1.

Miller has worked as a direct support professional with Autism Delaware's adult employment program (known as Productive Opportunities for Work & Recreation) since August 2014.

Miller distinguished herself by consistently exhibiting dignity and respect while supporting the individuals she has served and maintaining a level of tact and diplomacy that sets her apart from others in the field. "I am honored to have the privilege to work with the most unique and talented people," said Miller. "My time working at Autism Delaware has enriched my life. It has opened my mind and touched my heart to be able to be a part of this organization and to make a difference."
