Avatar Instruments Inc., a leading manufacturer of SCR Power Controllers and Systems, is donating over $6,000 worth of industrial touch screens, PLCs, interface hardware and software to Delaware Technical Community College for use in the Owens Campus Engineering Labs.
During a recent visit to Delaware Tech, Avatar Instruments President Paul Evalds was informed how the engineering department was buying used, out-of-date equipment online from scrap dealers.
Upon hearing this news, Evalds pledged to donate the new equipment and development software. The equipment will allow students to develop human-machine interface systems, programmable logic systems and industrial communications networks; these are crucial skills for a 21st century manufacturing workforce.
