Beacon volleyball outlasts Mariner 2-0

October 25, 2017

The Beacon Middle School volleyball team squeezed out a  25-16, 25-18 victory over Mariner in the Cape district game Oct. 23 at Cape Henlopen High School.

“Mariner versus Beacon is always a season highlight for both teams,” said Beacon coach Dion Lamb. “It’s an opportunity to see friends and have great chance to play in the high school gym in front of former players from both squads. Even though both teams are rebuilding, we know there is a lot of talent heading Cape coach [Tyler] Coupe’s way.”

Beacon travels to Sussex Academy Wednesday, Oct. 25, to play the Seahawks. Mariner is off until the Central Delaware Middle School Championships in Smyrna Friday, Nov. 3.
