Beatles documentary to open Sept. 30 at Cinema Art Theater

September 27, 2016

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society's Cinema Art Theater will present "The Beatles: Eight Days A Week - The Touring Years," opening at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 30.

Directed by Ron Howard, the new documentary is based on the first part of The Beatles' career (1962-66) – the period in which they toured and captured the world's acclaim. Howard's film will explore how John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr came together to become this extraordinary phenomenon, The Beatles. It will explore their inner workings – how they made decisions, created their music and built their collective career together – all the while exploring The Beatles' extraordinary and unique musical gifts and their remarkable, complementary personalities.

The film will focus on the time period from the early Beatles' journey in the days of The Cavern Club in Liverpool to their last concert at Candlestick Park in San Francisco in 1966. Screening times are 7 p.m., Friday, Sept 30, Saturday, Oct. 1 and Wednesday, Oct. 5, and 4 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6. Tickets can be purchased at the Cinema Art Theater starting 30 minutes prior to each screening. Admission is $8 for RBFS members and $10 for nonmembers.

The theater is at 17701 Dartmouth Drive in Dartmouth Plaza, behind the Lewes Wawa. For more information, go to www.rehobothfilm.com or call 302-645-9095.
