Beebe honors Interventional Cardiologist Robert Myers with Standards of Excellence Award

October 26, 2016

Beebe Healthcare and Beebe Medical Foundation have recognized interventional cardiologist Rob Myers, MD, for his commitment to clinical excellence and for his contributions to healthcare by honoring him with the organization's Standards of Excellence Award.

Jeffrey M. Fried, FACHE, president and CEO of Beebe Healthcare; Dave Herbert, vice chair of the board of directors; and Jeffrey E. Hawtof, MD, FAAFP, vice president of medical operations and Informatics; presented the award at the fifth annual New Provider Reception and Physician Awards dinner event.

"It was very hard to narrow this down to only one person," Fried said. "Although I believe there are over 300 providers on this medical staff who deserve recognition, and there were many who were nominated for this award, Dr. Myers has earned the award for his contributions to Beebe and the community, and for his commitment to clinical excellence."

Myers is board-certified in internal medicine, cardiology and interventional cardiology. He is a member of Beebe's System Strategy Group, the Joint Conference Committee, and the medical director of the Cardiac Cath Lab. He also is active at the Beebe Medical Foundation and is a participant in the Beebe Leadership Academy. Myers works full time as an interventional cardiologist at Beebe Healthcare, and sees patients at his private practice, Cardiovascular Consultants of Southern Delaware in Lewes.

The Standards of Excellence Award is based on several factors, including patient satisfaction scores, patient outcomes and the physician's commitment and participation with colleagues on hospital committees, performance improvement projects, workgroups and other forums focusing on improving overall patient care.

Beebe Healthcare also recognized six physicians for their 25 years of continuous service to Beebe and to the community. They are: Eric Hale, Patrick Kulina, Rama Peri, Srihari Peri, Thomas Shreeve and John Spieker. Herbert presented certificates to those who attended the awards ceremony.

A total of 44 physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurse anesthetists were welcomed as new members of the Beebe medical staff in 2016.

They are: Karen Abate, Lindsay Albanese, Katrin Arnolds, Armin Barekatain, Aaron R. Block, Sarah Callanan, Kathleen Cannatelli, Xiaoli Chen, Dawn Clark-Barber, Colleen Davis, Nisarg Desai, Cathleen O.
