Beer on Ice set at Delaware State Fair Ice Rink Feb. 25

Enjoy craft beer tasting, but no skating
February 22, 2017

Beer on Ice has a whole new meaning. On Saturday, Feb. 25, the beer will literally be on ice as the Delaware State Fair's Centre Ice Rink presents Beer on Ice, a craft beer tasting at the Centre Ice Rink. The ice will be covered with carpet, so no public skating will take place.

The craft beer tasting will take place from 2 to 6 p.m., with eight breweries on site serving up 17 different beers. Ticket redemption will open at 1:30 p.m., though patrons will need to remain in the rink lobby until the event opens on the ice.

Tastings will be available for many favorite brews, both local and non, alike. Pair favorite brews with something yummy from one of the vendors. There will be food from Bethany Blues, Mojo Loco, Vanderwende's Ice Cream and the Centre Ice Rink Coach's Café ready to eat. The Federal Street Band will be performing live music on the ice throughout the event.

Join in some curling or broom ball. Curling demonstrations will take place during the event and patrons can try their hand at playing this favorite ice sport.

General admission tickets are $25 and include six beer-tasting tickets, a souvenir mug and a very cool ice rink experience! Designated driver tickets are $15 and include two soda tickets and one hot dog from Coach's Café. Additional beer tickets may be purchased onsite for $2 per ticket. Admission tickets can be purchased online in advance at www.delawarestatefair.com or on Saturday at the door.

All patrons must be 21 years of age or older for this event. Remember to wear warm shoes and dress appropriately as the event takes place on ice.

The Delaware State Fair Centre Ice Rink is at 644 Fairgrounds Road, Harrington. Check out The Delaware State Fair on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/DelStateFair.
