Bin 66 offers largest rosé selection in Delaware

July 29, 2016

Rosé wines are the summer craze of the nation. Bin 66 Fine Wines and Spirits on the Forgotten Mile on Route 1 between Rehoboth and Dewey Beach invites wine lovers, wine likers and anyone who enjoys the summer and fresh foods to stop by and take a look at the wonderful selection of rosé wines from around the world. This national craze has hit Delaware, and Bin 66 has the largest number of rosé selections available in the state.

Great rosés come from the south of France, Spain and the United States. They can be made from Grenache, Syrah, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes. Other pink wines can be made from Merlot, Mourvèdre, Sangiovese, Tempranillo and Cabernet Franc. So there are many different tastes from numerous varietals. Second, the taste is dry, not sweet. They have the food-friendly acidity of crisp whites while coupled with the cherry-berry flavors of juicy reds. What a combination! The grape skins are in contact with the juice for a short period, which makes the wine pink.

Third, rosés are served fresh - they shouldn't be stored and they should be well chilled. They go with so many foods. Great pairings are with Southern European cuisine such as paella, fish stew and fresh lobster, or spicy foods such as Mexican, Moroccan and even barbecued baby back ribs. For those who want to eat only from the land, a rosé can be paired with broiled eggplant with tomato sauce. What a great, refreshing combination for summer consumption; rosés and the foods people love the most on a hot, sultry day.

Tom Poor, owner of Bin 66, invites shoppers to stop by to peruse the new rosé section and to speak with the educated wine sales staff. Poor says, "We have 120 different rosé selections and prices from which to choose. Spend time in the store to choose from the entire, other vast selections of wine from around the world. Don't forget to also check the selection of gourmet cheeses, craft beers, and pick up some information about the 2018 wine cruise to New Zealand and Australia."
