Bob Meade joins Lewes Nationwide office

Long-time agency offers expanded financial services
October 5, 2012

Local Nationwide Insurance agent Thad Truitt has welcomed financial specialist Bob Meade to his team. Meade brings over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry to an agency, which has served the local community since 1967.

Truitt said that adding a financial associate who is both a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) expands the depth and breadth of services his office can provide. He looks forward to working with new clients and expanding the services available to his current clients. The office is located at 365 Savannah Road, Lewes.

Meade began his career in New York City working for SBC&Y, a small fee-only financial planning company, which provided personal financial advisory services to Fortune 500 executives. A University of Delaware graduate with a finance degree, he returned to Delaware when SBC&Y opened an office in Wilmington.

After going out on his own and gaining experience with IDS Financial Services, Meade and his family moved to Lewes in the early 1990s when he was hired by Wilmington Trust Co. to open a brokerage office in Georgetown. He eventually assumed the role of investment advisor in the Wilmington Trust - Wealth Advisory Group for nine years before parting ways shortly before the buyout by M&T Bank.

Meade served on the Cape Henlopen School Board from 2001 to 2006 and likes to trade stories with business founder Dave Truitt who served on the Cape Henlopen school board from 1974 to 1989. Meade's first board meeting witnessed a presentation by Truitt and a group of local alumni resulting in renaming the high school athletic facility Legends Stadium.

In addition to his local volunteer work coaching and managing various youth athletic teams, Meade serves on the Children and Families First advisory board.

“I‟m happy to be here in Lewes with Nationwide and the Truitt agency. Thad and his father have worked hard to build a well respected local business and I hope to be an asset to the team. This is a nice group of people who do business the right way and I feel very fortunate to have this opportunity” Meade said.
