Bookmobile bookmark contest winners announced

Browseabout Books awarded prizes to 16 finalists in the inaugural Bookmobile Bookmark Contest March 10. As Cape’s community partner for the bookmobile, Browseabout will be purchasing hundreds of books for summer distribution. Cape students in third through fifth grades were invited to design bookmarks that will be distributed with bookmobile books.

Four finalists from each school were invited to the awards ceremony. One winning bookmark was selected from each elementary school to be reproduced and given away on the bookmobile.

Sara Kilby was the winner from H.O. Brittingham. Finalists were Adele Trumbauer, and Megan M. and Miguel Morales. Quinn Sebers was the winner from Milton Elementary. Finalists were Evelyn Torres, Timiah Jackson and Alexis Olanowski. Liam Mack was the Rehoboth Elementary winner. Finalists were Reagan Buehler, Emerson Sheldon and Rose Lee. Madeline Pepper was the Shields Elementary winner. Finalists were Maya DiSabatino, Jimmy Rego and Kevin Lewandowski.

Browseabout General Manager Susan Kehoe said, “We loved this fun bookmark contest for Cape students, and we intend to make this an annual event. We had over 100 original entries, and we are excited to bring the winners’ bookmarks to life.”

Cape Elementary Education Supervisor Donna Kolakowski said, “The district is thrilled to have a community partner like Browseabout for our bookmobile. We look forward to a long-term relationship with Browseabout and their staff. Their support will allow the Cape Readiness Team to continue distributing important educational materials to our Cape community.”
