Bucklin sworn in as Court of Common Pleas commissioner

The Hon. Donald R. Bucklin was publicly sworn in for his first term as a commissioner for the Court of Common Pleas for the State of Delaware Aug. 19 in Courtroom One at Sussex County Courthouse in Georgetown.

Court of Common Pleas Judge Beauregard welcomed the audience to the investiture, and the invocation was performed by the Rev. W. Dennis Griffith Jr. of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Selah, Sean and Sebastian Chenery, Madison and J.T. Quinter, nieces and nephews of Bucklin.

Delaware Superior Court Judge Richard F. Stokes administered the oath of office as Bucklin's daughters – Abigail and Grace Bucklin – held the Bible. Following the Oath of Office, Donald T. Bucklin, Esq., father of Bucklin, and Stephen Smyk, Delaware State Representative 20th District, friend of Bucklin, offered remarks.

Commissioner Bucklin is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a degree in history. He received his juris doctorate from the Catholic University Columbus School of Law in 1995. Bucklin is admitted to practice law in Virginia, Maryland, the District of Columbia and Delaware.
