Buddy Run 5K won by Stefan Fuchsluger of Rehoboth in 19:08

The Buddy Run 5K, held Aug. 13 in Dewey Beach, attracted 280 runners. The race was won by Stefan Fuchsluger, 44, of Rehoboth in a time of 19:08.

Fuchsluger was followed to the finish line by Kevin Whalen, 16, of West Chester, Pa., in 19:30 and Joseph Faia, 18, of Chadds Ford, Pa., in 19:44.

Gabriella Viattas, 19, from Carmel, N.Y., was the first woman in 20:02. Joining Viattas on the top of the leaderboard were Eleanor Danna, 24, from Montvale, N.J., in 22:29 and Cat Volmer, 33, from Columbia, Md., in 22:35.

Notable age-group performances for women included Nora Parsons, 11, in 25:15; Katie Klabe, 18, in 24:25; Kaylie Truitt, 17, in 25:33; Kim Burton, 47, in 27:27; Sandra Peck, 53, in 24:47; and Mary Andrisani, 65, of Hockessin in 30:44.

Male performances of note included Desmond Parsons, 8, in 27:45; Owen Easteadt, 8, in 29:34; Liam Easteadt, 10, in 23:13; Colin Fuchsluger, 14, in 21:21; Eli Lynn, 23, in 20:35; Taylor Heydt, 27, in 21:01; Mike Egbert, 33, in 21:22; Pete Giglione, 40, in 22:48; Doug Lynn, 49, in 21:22; Jim MacDonald, 57, in 22:31; Vic Yzaguirre, 62, in 23:13; Douglas Repetti, 66, in 23:43; and John Dean, 72, in 28:49.

This event benefits Best Buddies Delaware and the Boardwalk Buddy Walk.
