Busy schedule

October 19, 2017

Most of the games on Thursday Night Football are usually really bad, but last week's game, between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Carolina Panthers, was very competitive. The Eagles won 29 to 23.

The defense was able to hold the Panthers offense to mostly field goals. They also forced two turnovers that resulted in 14 points. It was a big help that the Eagles defensive lineman, Fletcher Cox, played in the game. It was not clear up until game time that he was going to start. He played very well for having two weeks off due to a calf injury.

The offense did a very good job converting the opportunities they received.

This week's game is against the Washington Redskins. If the Eagles win, they will have a big lead in the division. This season is looking a lot better than forecasted.

The Major League Baseball playoffs are coming down to the wire now. The most frustrating part about watching the games is how long the games are taking. I remember watching the games when I was young and they were definitely a lot shorter. Much of this seems to be due to the managers being way too paranoid about any possibility of what can happen between each batter. They are removing the pitchers way too much. This is very annoying and I think hurting the viewing audience for the games.

My prediction about the Houston Astros playing the Los Angeles Dodgers for the World Series is still very possible. I hope this happens. The Dodgers are leading the Cubs 3 to 1 in their series, and the Yankees are up 3 to 2 in their series with the Astros. Houston is at home for the last 2 games so you never know what's going to happen. The games might be too long, but I will be watching.
