Event held in Dewey during opening weekend of Northbeach

The Cancer Support Community hosted its annual Kentucky Derby Party May 6 at Northbeach in Dewey.
Doors opened at 4 p.m., with a raw bar and live music. There was a silent auction, and $500 prizes for Best Dressed and Best Hat. All the event proceeds stay in Sussex County.
The Cancer Support Community is part of a national nonprofit organization providing support, education and hope to people with cancer and their loved ones. All Cancer Support Community-Delaware programs are offered at no charge to participants. More information is available at cancersupportdelaware.org.
