Cancer Support Community Delaware's Third Annual Survive & Thrive 1 Mile Walk and 5K Walk/Run will take place Saturday, May 13. Anyone can take part in this celebration of cancer survivors throughout the community. Participants can join in the fun individually or create a team with friends and colleagues to participate in the event. The event kicks off at Gordons Pond at the south end of Cape Henlopen State Park and travels along the scenic Rehoboth Boardwalk. The walk/run ends at Forgotten Mile Ale House, and then the Survivors Celebration begins.

An information meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, March 30, at Cancer Support Community Delaware. Members of the public may attend to learn more about the event, fundraising and ideas for starting a team. Light refreshments will be provided. To RSVP, contact Stacy LaMotta at slamotta@cscde.org or 302-645-9150.

T-shirts will be given to the first 100 registrants. The overall highest fundraising team and individual will win a team dinner hosted by Cancer Support Community Delaware. Food and drinks are provided at the post-event Survivors Celebration hosted by Forgotten Mile Ale House. Complimentary shuttle service is provided by Jolly Trolley for all participants to the race start and back to Gordons Pond parking lot from the after party.
