Cape boys’ lax destroys Central 21-0

The Cape boys’ lacrosse team outshot Sussex Central 42-6 in its 21-0 shutout win over the Golden Knights April 11 in Georgetown.

Luke D’Ambrogi scored three goals on three shots and had one assist. Andre Currie, Blake Gipko, Ryan Diacont, Robert Rickenbach and Adem Tekman tallied two goals each, while Jack Dennis, Jake Brown, Liam Zolper, Will Bragg, Michael Martz, Finbar Rishko, Aarin Burton and Jayden Davis all tallied single goals.

JP Heid had two helpers in the game, while Brown, Bragg, Burton and Davis each had a single assist.

Baxter Travers made four saves in the game, while Central goalie Zac Coffeit stopped six Vikings shots.

“A lot of players got in the game and got some playing time,” said Cape coach Mark D’Ambrogi. “That helps us grow as a team.”

Cape will play Salesianum Saturday, April 14, at the Dave Reynolds Lacrosse Festival at Wesley College. Game time is 3 p.m.
