Cape girls’ lacrosse excels in Blue-White All-Star game

Cape girls’ lacrosse was represented by Mallory Jones, Victoria Lockwood and Lindsay Monigle on the White team in the annual Delaware Lacrosse Foundation Blue-White All-Star game held at Dover High School June 12. When the final horn sounded, the Blue team was victorious 19-17. Jones scored three goals and added an assist, while Monigle tallied one goal and two assists. Lockwood played stellar defense and had numerous successful clears.

Cape girls earning first-team all-state honors were Monigle and Jones at attack, Alia Marshall at midfield, Annie Judge on defense and Vienna Iacona at goal. Second-team honors went to Katie Frederick at attack, Lockwood at midfield and Jody Boyer on defense.

Monigle, Marshall and Judge were picked as US Lacrosse All-Americans, while Leah Barry was chosen as an Academic All-American.
