Cape Henlopen Senior Center wraps Santa gifts for seniors

Members of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center and volunteers spent the morning of Dec. 8 wrapping gifts for the Be a Santa for a Senior program from Home Instead Care. 

Home Instead Senior Care's Be a Santa to a Senior program is an annual program in which Home Instead Senior Care asks that community groups and organizations provide names of seniors in the area who may not receive a gift or who have very little or no family contact for the holidays.

Home Instead Senior Care gathers a list of these names and gift ideas are placed on ornaments on a tree and people within the community "adopt" those seniors and purchase gifts for them. Volunteers all got together early in December for a wrapping party and then each community group was responsible for delivering the wrapped gifts to the appropriate seniors.
